Sri Lanka #2. South: Galle, Tangalle, Yala National Park

After the eastern part of Sri Lanka, we moved south.

From Bentota we went to Galle by bus Colombo-Matara, left things on the railway station (it is nearby) in the luggage room and went to the Dutch Fort. By the way, we bought here tickets for the train Ella-Nuwara Eliya(Nanu Oya). This railway is well-known for its landscapes.

In Galle Fort we spent half a day. There was a man with a flute that hypnotized the cobra ...

Very nice hotel

Rocky Villa
Very cool place! We lived there alone in a silence. A beautiful garden, wild peacocks running around.

Near the hotel there is a beautiful empty beach, we heard the roar of waves in the hotel from there. We really enjoyed it. We finally exhaled after the flight.

We went to see the local attraction Blow Hole, the entrance is 500 rupees. It's a rock where the waves fly up like a fountain. We did not see a single wave ... Therefore, we think that it is a waste of time and money.

Then we decided to go deeper into the island. The first stop was in Tissamaharama for 2 days, we decided to go on a safari to Yala National Park.

We liked the route on the local bus Tangalla - Tissamaharama through unpopular places with temples where we saw elephants and monkeys. By the way, the front seats on the bus are reserved for the clergy, and it is necessary to leave the place to the monks if they enter the bus.
Tisamaharama is really a terrible place. We advise not to stay here.
Jeep Safari in Yala National Park.
Awakening at 4.30 am, 2 hours waiting at the entrance (except you there are 60 cars), and then you drive through the park in search of animals. We saw deer, buffalo, wild elephant, mongoose, bird, crocodile, monkey and wild boar. Unfortunately, we didn`t meet bears and leopards.
All expenses for park visiting are 5000 rupees per person (and this is a low price!).

From Tisamaharama we went to Ella Rock. Unfortunately, there was no direct bus, our route ran through these stations Tisamaharama - Thanamalwila - Wellawaya - Ella.
