Austria #1. Kaprun & Zell Am See. Winter`12

My trip to Austria was calm and restrained (read more here).

I really enjoed skiing here. You will find here all sorts of facilities:  free busses to the resorts (they always works minute by minute according to the schedule), closed lifts where you don`t freeze to death (unlike the Caucasus and the Carpathians), there are no queues on the lifts (although it was the New Year eve).

Kaprun and Zell Am See resorts are next to each other, and you use the same ski pass. The total length of all trails (on all the mountains) is 138 km.

Kaprun

I liked this resort more. There are few trails in total, but the scale and width of the trails are amazing. Most of the tracks are fenced, but there are tracks for free riders too. There are many Russians and Ukrainians, few beginners.

Zell am See

There are more trails (and they are easier than on Kaprun), a beautiful view, but the tracks were killed quickly by begginers. There are many schools with pupils-chickens, here higher prices, more people. We went here for 1 day and then remained faithful to Kaprun.
