Indonesia #2. Bali, monkeys in Ubud

We lived in Sanur and from there went around the island in search of adventures. To save money and nerves, we hired a driver and told him about the route and places we want to visit. He made adjustments and offered interesting options from his side.

We visited the middle part of the island - the jungle near Ubud. If you read "Eat.Pray.Love", you know old Indonesian man Ketut. He is a real person that you can visit there. I really wanted to, but I had no time for that.

To visit this part is definitely worth it, maybe it`s better to live there for a few days at the hotel. It is a mecca of artists and poets, there is always quiet and peaceful, unlike the South.

There are incredible rice terraces. Next to the terraces there are many restaurants where you can have a bite of Nasi Champur :) (rice with all sorts of ingredients: coconut shavings and caramels mixed with pork and seaweed)

Entering the realm of monkeys, you need to hide your accessories, equipment, and shiny things. Monkeys are very curious and can take, what they want, without your permission.
If the monkey jumped on your shoulder, you should freeze. An observer of the park will help you to distract the monkey and take it away from you. Do not do it yourself.
