Zakarpatya was for me an unexplored part of Ukraine. This winter I decided to correct this situation.
Uzhhorod and Perechyn district
We lived in the hotel "Uzhhorod". It is one of the most expensive hotels in the city. 1000 UAH per night. The restaurant in the hotel is also expensive (as for Uzhhorod). But these prices don`t match the quality.
Uzhgorod is not a big city. There you`ll find only 2 landmarks: the Uzhgorod Castle with many museums inside and the Greek Catholic Cathedral. On the pedestrian bridge and on the embankment on the railing you can find miniature sculptures. Thus, a walk can be a quest.
There is an incredible confectionery Shtefanyo.
Below you`ll find a photo inside the Greek Catholic Cathedral. We visited the concert of the famous choir "Cantus". I liked the live sound of the harp.
Ducks under the bridge
Polonyna Runa is a mountain range surrounded by reserves. Virgin clean forests and rivers, the lack of civilization and human settlements. This is a territory that quite unknown to the tourist.
We arrived to Turya Polyana.
It is worth to go there in the warm season because walking on snowdrifts is too difficult. But on the snow traces of wild animals are clearly visible.
By the way, on the way to Turya Polyana you will see the almost completely destroyed Nevytsky Castle.

There you will find a very beautiful waterfall Davir.
In addition, you can try healing Lumshory baths, known in Europe since the 17th century (with swimming in a mountain river).
Polyana & Mukachevo
We lived in Poljad for 5 days in the hotel "Na Solnechnoy". Pleasant mistress, cleanliness, a large yard for parking, 2 good dogs and one fat cat :). The cost ranges from 550 to 750 UAH per night. Telephone Number: (050) 681 76 34.
Our two-level room
There are 2 good restaurants Liliya and Kolyba not far from the hotel (3 minutes driving). There is also a sanatorium with a hot spring of drinking water with medicinal properties. As for me, I didn`t like this tool for a long healthy life because of terrible taste.
Also, Polyana has a small ski resort (by the way, next to the cemetery). And a good sauna in the hotel Kateryna: 300 hryvnas per hour. You`ll find there a huge swimming pool.

Next to Polyana there are three villages: Svalyava, Solochin and Synyak, where are located another spring with healing water.
On the road Polyana-Mukachevo you should visit the
Shenborn Palace (only the park and the territory outside the the premises).

Iza - Pylypets`
We stopped in Iza at the dairy. To my happiness, there was only cow milk cheese (without sheep milk cheese). It was quite delicious. By the way, we ate there the best vareniki (local dish) with potatoes in Zakarpatya.

There is an inconspicuous turn right to the deer farm a few kilometers after Iza. The entrance is 20 UAH. You can feed them with corn sticks (5 UAH).
But you will see the terrible thing because people cut off their horns for the manufacture of medicines. Of course, it is better to give them freedom.

In Rakhiv I was in 2010. This place is the Geographical Center of Europe.
Beautiful nature, bridges over the river. But a 3.5-hour drive from Mukachevo is not worth it. It is better to visit this place on a trip to Dragobrat or Bukovel (hour's drive from both points).

Dragobrat is one of the famous ski resorts in Ukraine. Please find on their website all the detailed information, including video cameras, hotels and prices.
One of the main landmarks of this region is Synevyr Lake. We decided to visit it in the warm season.
Slavs`ke Ski Resort (Lviv region)
My first experience of skiing was here in 2006.
On the second day of skiing, we went to Trostyan Mount, where I would have to stay on the row tow 25 minutes on my skis to get to the top of the mountain to get to the another isolated Hrabovets` Mount. I hadn`t a choice, that`s why it was a really terrible experience for me. I did it only on the third. But the effort was worth it, we were practically alone among the mountains.
Also, there is Zahar Berkut Mount, where you can try the standard lift for 2 persons but sometimes without handrails. Feel the adrenalin!

Adventure in a snow storm
On January 4, 2017, we were trapped in a heavy snowfall in Zakarpatya. I hope that all the drivers have successfully reached home. It was practically zero visibility.
For those who will go to Kiev from there, I propose two points for spending the night:
1. Stryj (on the road from Kiev to Zakarpatya), hotel Perlina. The cost of the rooms is 500 UAH.
2. Rovno (on the way to Kiev). We usually spend the night in Aivenho hotel.
